Luke Warmcop (drums, percussion) and Graham Mushnik (organ, piano, melodica) formed Guess What in 2005. They started out working indoors only, producing obscure metaphysical music and soundtracks, such as their unreleased first EP "Guess what Plato Told me". Since 2008 however, the duet have been hitting the stage, performing live a set of instrumental pieces dedicated to Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin - hence their first album "Yuri Gagarin - 12 Modern Odes to History's Greatest Spaceman" (on Catapulte Records). In 2010, they discovered the mighty "Giallo" cinema, and recorded some italian-sounding music. The second LP, "Mondo Giallo", was released on Imagenes Recordings in 2012. An edited version was also released as part of a 4x10" boxset on !Angr! Records in 2017. After the ItalO.S.T studies, Guess What went back to science: their third album tells the story of persian mathematician and astronomer Al-Khawarizmi and tastefuly explores music from the Middle-East. It was released on Catapulte in 2015. The duet’s fourth album is on it’s way : « Music For The Education Of Children In Space ». Following their tradition, Guess What like to pay tributes - to NASA's « teacher in space » program leader Christa McAuliffe who died in spaceship Challenger in 1986, but also to Romanian children's TV show « Misiunea Spatiala Delta » and to Sun Ra's space-inspired jazz songs. The album will come out this Summer 2021 ! >>> Guess What also have a BLOG. Guess What on Macario's angrry website FR / EN style="color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-family: Courier New;"> |
